Prof. Marc van Veldhoven from Tilburg University, will give a seminar at the Univerity of Valencia: “Connecting Work Psychology to Strategic Human Resource Management”

Marc van Veldhoven is the chairman of the department of Human resource studies at Tilburg University. He was a practitioner in occupational health care for 15 years before coming to academia in 2002. His main interest is in building bridges between work psychology and strategic HRM. He has numerous publications on applied psychology, HRM and occupational health., and is on the editorial boards of JOOP, Human Relations, and EJWOP.

The seminar in two parts: “Connecting Work Psychology to Strategic Human Resource Management” focuses on questions like:

  • An overview of existing research at the interface of Work Psychology and Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM)
  • Reflection upon 3 directions for future research in the area: complex trade-offs, strategic context, and the active employee
  • Integration of individual and organizational level processes into HRM research: methodological, conceptual and theoretical challenges.

 

 

Prof. Roya Ayman, PhD will give a seminar at the Univerity of Valencia: “Gender’s role in leadership effectiveness and implication for leadership development”

 

Roya Ayman is a Psychology Professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology with more than 30 of experience in research topics such as leadership, gender and culture. She coauthored a book on Leadership Theory and Research and she also specialises in training,     mentoring  &  coaching, change management  and  organizational assessment at both public and private entities.

The seminar   “Gender’s role in leadership effectiveness and implication for leadership development”   focuses on questions like:

  • How men and women differ in their leadership?
  • How do men and women’s leadership behaviours relate to effectiveness across conditions?
  • How can we develop and empower men and women to become leaders?

The ceremony took place on Friday, November 25, during the IV Conference on Occupational Psychology, Organizations and Human Resources.

Andrea Ghiselli has been awarded with the “Master Tesis Award” from the Global Conference on Work Psychology and Human Resources.
